If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment ― Marcus Aurelius, Meditations
The device playing a song knows perfectly well what it is playing; for anyone standing even one step removed, the same fact turns out to be oddly difficult to come by. The first post in this series granted the music widget on the home page four hurried paragraphs, and this one is the amends I owe it.
The application serving this page started life as GoBlog, written by Jan-Lukas Else, and I’d recommend it warmly if what you want is a blog. It’s a single Go binary which speaks the whole IndieWeb alphabet, has no build step and no JavaScript framework anywhere near it, and that last part is why I picked it over roughly a dozen alternatives.
The page you are reading is served by one of three programs sitting behind a single nginx, with no orchestrator, no service mesh and no cluster anywhere in the arrangement: a Go binary, a Rust binary, a directory of static files, and a quantity of opinions about URLs that is entirely out of proportion to any of it.
